Gretna Music Winter 2016-2017:  The Curtis Legacy

The Curtis Legacy is 4 concerts exploring the remarkable legacy of the world’s most prestigious school of music.  Every Curtis student gets a full scholarship, but with a 4.8% acceptance rate, a student body under 200, and worldwide competition for admission,  good luck on that audition!  Get in, and you’ll walk the halls once trod by the young Leonard Bernstein, Samuel Barber, Lang Lang, and Hilary Hahn.

Classical Conversations or First Listen
Free pre-concert lectures by musicians, composers, and/or professors or First Listen, free pre-concert mini-concerts by our area’s most talented youth performers, 45 minutes before our concerts.

See concert listing on Home Page for details about each concert, the artists, pre-concert programming, and program notes.

About Music at Gretna

Μusic at Gretna has filled the Mt. Gretna Playhouse with music since 1976 and Leffler Performance Center at Elizabethtown College since 1995. At the core of our mission is the great stream of Western music that began a millennium ago in Europe and gathered force as musicians from all countries and continents joined the flow through centuries. Among humanity's greatest achievements, that music has become a universal means of communication that can be enhanced by expressive and creative performance. We try to be courageous explorers of our vast musical universe.
