Learn basic elements of music – rhythm, melody, tempo, dynamics. The sisters will show how melodies are passed around among the three instruments and how each one has a different role (and how the roles change). Also, how to tap different rhythms simultaneously and create harmony. They will encourage the children to create a drawing, a poem, or a story while listening to their music and end the performance by answering questions about the music they play, lives as musicians, and being sisters that create music together. Recommended for ages 6 and up. Tickets are $1 for ages 18 and under, $5 for adults who bring a youth, $5 for ages 19-30, and $10 for everyone else.
Special thank you to the Mt. Gretna Arts Council for helping underwrite this second season of Gretna Music 4 Kids. The 2019 GM4K season is in honor of Linda Bell, organizer of the Mt. Gretna Outdoor Art Show for 20+ years (so long, she can’t come up with an exact number). Linda has always supported activities and art opportunities for children in Mt. Gretna. Also a big thank you to the following foundations: McCormick Family Foundation, The Donald B. And Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation, The Presser Foundation, and The Hershey Company.
