We are sorry to share that we have had to cancel our presentation of Yamato: The Drummers of Japan, which was to be held on Wednesday, July 24 at the Mt. Gretna Playhouse. The group, which has made numerous previous US tours without incident, was denied a visa for this tour by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
We did attempt to come up with an alternative performer but were unable to find a similar ensemble that we felt would provide you with equal cultural and entertainment value at such short notice. For those of you who have already purchased tickets or exchanged flex tickets, please check you inbox for more information on refunds.
Playing on traditional taiko drumming instruments, these highly-trained performers seek what the Japanese call “tamashy,” translated as soul, spirit, or psyche – the basic element of life. Be ready to feel their pulsating energy resonate in you as they weave modern artistic elements with 1,000 years of tradition.
